Here I have 2 quick stories...lol
1. Head Office (Warner Bros Pictures) I receive an urgent call "Dunn we need your master 24 track tape immediately!" My response "Man, I haven't seen no money!" The caller starts to laugh hysterically. He says before you hang up this phone your money will be on its way. I had no idea I was speaking with the Head Producer and Owner... Oh my!!! lol
2. The Oprah Winfrey scene in Native Son continues to this day to have me cutting onions as she begs for her son's life hits close to home to me. The contrary motion orchestration is a musical technique that relates to my soul

WENDY'S
SUPERBOWL AD!! What a thrill to produce the music for Wendy's Crispy Nuggets which by the way is the first in advertising history where an African American (Kool & The Gang) has introduced a new product to a national audience. SUPER!!!
TELEVISION
NEW YORK UNDERCOVER FOX-TV
The journey for James Mtume and myself to get the job was filled with challenges. The day we finally were hired (cashed the check, which we flew to LA to receive) we took a scenic ride back to the hotel. With very little conversation, I'll never forget that we simply smiled... For me and him that meant everything for we knew this show would be something special.
Later we wrote the Theme Song... WE ABSOLUTELY KNEW THIS SHOW WAS SPECIAL...
RECORDS
My first Philly International vocal recording session with the O'Jays, I couldn't get them to sing the harmony ala my technical training. Finally Kenny Gamble (Producer) pulled me aside and told me to forget that college boy sh*t and let them sing. And sang they did! However I was so embarrassed because I couldn't understand how something that was so wrong technically could sound so right. I spent the night at the piano studying every note they sang against the music.
BROADWAY SHOW
AMEN CORNER
This is my proudest moment! I was able to fly my grandparents to NYC, rent a limousine, walk into the Nederlander Theater and watch the usher hand them a playbill which included my name. Then as the curtain raised to my arrangement/orchestration I realized that this is why WE chose a LIFETIME MUSICAL CAREER...
